David Cameron and Ruvin Ivenskis launched Insuraplex in January 2018.

After many years in the insurance reinstatement industry, David and Ruvin saw the need for change and improvement. With strong ideas about how to deliver better outcomes for clients, they were keen to bring a new offering to the market.

After significant planning to establish new processes, and systems to attract and retain the best staff, David and Ruvin decided it was the right time to create Insuraplex.

David Cameron

David started working in the insurance industry in 1988. He quickly progressed into supervision and construction management roles, before becoming group director for one of Melbourne’s top reinstatement firms.

David has a degree in Project Management and Construction and is a registered builder in Victoria and previously registered in New South Wales and Queensland.

He has received multiple building awards in Victoria , NSW and internationally, including the Phoenix Award (Columbia USA).

Outside of work David likes to travel with friends and family and spend time watching his children play sport, as well as assisting various local sporting clubs.

Ruvin Ivenskis

Since 2002 Ruvin has worked for Melbourne’s top reinstatement contractors, including managing complicated large loss claims.

Ruvin has extensive experience in estimating, supervision, key account management and direct line management of supervisors, estimators and administration staff.

Since meeting in 2002, Ruvin and David have maintained a long and rewarding working relationship.

Outside of work Ruvin likes to spend time with his friends and young family.

Anthony Caruso

Anthony’s career in construction started over 20 years ago in residential construction spending the last 10 years within the Insurance industry as an estimator/ supervisor progressing to a construction manager role.

Anthony has a Diploma in Building & Construction and is currently a registered builder.

Central to Anthony’s role, he brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to Insuraplex. He believes the client journey is one of the most important aspects of the building process. This can see through his personality and likeable nature, and the way he achieves quality outcomes for the client.

Anthony enjoys time spent with family and taking opportunities to enjoy recreational fishing.

Robert Lyng

Strategic Development Manager

Robert, third generation at Johns & Lyng, began working there as an estimator in 1971. He became Managing Director in 1981, shifting the company’s focus towards insurance reinstatement work.

For 35 years, Robert was involved in some of Melbourne’s most high profile insurance jobs, developing long-standing relationships with Melbourne’s top loss adjusters.

With a focus on innovation, Robert developed the company’s first computerised estimating system, creating significant efficiencies. Later he started Restorx (contents restoration) as an adjunct to the construction arm.

Estimating Manager

Following completion of his carpentry apprenticeship Glenn started in the insurance industry with Robert Lyng in 1981. Commencing as a carpenter before progressing into various supervision roles.

In 1986 an opportunity arose to try estimating. Because of Glenn’s exceptional work ethic, attention to detail and industry knowledge the company quickly realized he had the secret ingredient for training others.

As estimating manager Glenn was instrumental in the growth of Johns Lyng, his skill set allowed him to develop and train new and existing staff, many of these staff are very highly regarded and in various roles throughout the insurance industry to this day.

Glenn also became a director of one of Australia’s leading insurance builders in 2003 and held this position until 2013.

Glenn is extremely excited to be estimating and assisting Insuraplex staff.

Outside of work Glenn likes to keep himself fit doing various activities and has a fondness to travel with family and friends.

Matt Trewin

Senior Estimator

After completing his studies in Building and construction, Matt moved into an estimating role within the Insurance building industry.

He has been estimating in the Insurance building industry now for over 10 years.

The role has sent him all over the country to assess and estimate during major disasters, storms and catastrophes. Matt has a vast knowledge of insurance building estimating and has been involved with estimating projects from as little as one thousand dollars right up to seven million dollar projects across a diverse range of claims such as fires, floods, impacts and total rebuilds.

He has proven history of working with Adjusters and insurers to find the most optimum outcomes for his clients.

Matt is a person of extremely high integrity and has a genuine care for the quality service he delivers both to insureds and insurers alike.

Out of work Matt is an avid photographer who loves spending time with his wife, friends and two dogs.
